Coworking is a weekly segment where we spotlight Emerging Tech Brew readers who work with emerging technologies. Click here if you’d like a chance to be featured.
How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in tech?
I create software for visualizing data and optimize rolling stock configurations.
What’s your favorite emerging tech project you’ve worked on?
IoT: Tons of little bastards talking to each other, making our [lives] easier and simpler. Data gathered by IoT devices can be used to automate simple tasks, which clears your day of routine and gives more time for activities.
What emerging tech are you most optimistic about?
I’m thrilled about 3D printing and what it brings to people. It’s much safer than woodwork, and although less sturdy, it’s much more precise and can help grow a generation of open-minded, imaginative people that will bring many new ideas to the table.
What’s the best piece of tech-related media you’ve read/watched/listened to?
I’ve listened to a lot of Stack Overflow podcasts lately. A lot of insights from people who’ve seen and been through it all.
One thing we can’t guess from your LinkedIn profile?
I was competing in Rubik’s cube-solving competitions. I was deep in the Polish speed-cubing scene, helping and even co-hosted a few competitions myself. My best official solve [time] is 14.07 seconds. Also, I’m a coffee freak. Home barista, specializing in alternative types of coffee brewing. Specialty coffee beans from Kenya, Ethiopia, Brazil. Altering coffee recipes by tenths of a gram to capture the aromatics and flavors. You want that new iPhone? I’ll have a new grinder instead. 😅
